A Picnic in the Daffodil’s

Posted by on Apr 2, 2013 in Featured, Our Life | 0 comments

Remember that BEAUTIFUL weekend we had a few weeks ago?  It was a Spring “teaser” weekend, but it was a GREAT weekend. (Wow, I’ve already used all caps twice…it must have been a good weekend!)  Well, anyway, we joined our friends for a picnic at their farm.  The daffodil’s were in full bloom and the sky was blue….the perfect ingredients for a gathering of friends.

TJ and I decided to pack a legit picnic basket with fruits, veggies, a caprese sandwich, and a bottle of wine.  It was so fun just preparing the basket!  I had purchased it at a thrift store years ago and had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.  I look forward to using it more this Spring & Summer.  I feel like I’ve been cooped up in the house too much lately with the cold weather.

We made sure to bring our camera along and capture the joy of the day as we all basked in the sun, eating our lunches, and enjoying the company of friends!

Newborn/Family Session: The Woodfin Family

The past 2 weeks have been quite an emotional adventure for me.  I had the amazing opportunity to witness the birth of my nephew, Landon Guy Woodfin.  It was like nothing I have ever experienced before.  The beginning of life is so beautiful.  It was so wonderful to see Jacob & Alisha lay eyes on their son for the first time after dreaming of what he would look like for 9 months.  To actually see “love at first sight” was pretty incredible.  I have plenty more to write about the actual “birth” day, but I will save that for when I blog those images…stay tuned!

A couple days after the new family came home from the hospital, TJ & I headed over to their house to spend time with our little nephew and to capture some of his beautifulness.  As I was photographing him, all I could think about was how much he looks like Jacob.  It really is amazing!

Congratulations, Jacob & Alisha!  Landon is more amazing than I could have ever imagined….he is perfectly and wonderfully made!

Workshop at The Well

So many times we get people telling us they have a digital SLR camera and want to know how to use the functions as they don’t want to shoot in Automatic all the time.  Well, this past Saturday we held an “Intro to Photography/ How to use your Digital SLR” Workshop so that they could learn how to take it out of Automatic and “drive” using the manual features.  We ended up having 10 participants join us at The Well Coffeehouse in Pineville.  There was even someone who drove in all the way from Asheville, NC!

The day couldn’t have gone better!  TJ is an amazing teacher and loves to create an atmosphere for people to learn.  He also created a great workbook to go along with the class.  I was obviously there organizing a lot of the details prior to and during the workshop, however when it comes to actually teaching, that is where TJ shines!  Throughout the day I was also taking video clips and still photos to document the workshop.

Thank you to everyone who participated on Saturday!  We had so much fun meeting each and every one of you.

If you are interested in staying up to date on our future workshops, please email us and let us know.  As soon as dates are scheduled, you will be the first to know.
