Billy Graham Library | Wish of a Lifetime | Charlotte, NC
You may remember our post a few weeks back, Wish of a Lifetime. Well, we had the opportunity to photograph another wish for a very lovely lady.
Wish of a Lifetime contacted us about Grace, a woman with a dream to see the Billy Graham Library. We were asked to document her experience. What a beautiful morning it was. The weather was gorgeous and Grace & her son were excited. All of the staff was so welcoming to Grace and really made it an experience she will never forget. At the end of the tour there was a prayer time with her and a staff member who sang Amazing Grace so beautifully.
If you’ve never been to the Billy Graham Library, I highly recommend it. It’s so amazing and beautiful.
Thank you, again, Wish of a Lifetime, for giving us this experience of helping to make someone else’s dream come true.
Here is a glimpse into Grace’s journey through the Billy Graham Library. Enjoy!
Just me being the test subject for lighting.
Spring Blossoms |Fort Mill, SC
One of my favorite things about Spring is the beautiful blossoming trees. There is such a short window to view these gorgeous blooms. In past years I have missed my chance at photographing portraits in the peach orchards in Fort Mill. However, not this year! I was super excited to go out and capture portraits of my friend Nicole. Between her and the peach blossoms, the beauty was off the charts!
Nicole also has a fashion blog, Proceed with Style. Definitely go check it out!
Wish of a Lifetime | Charlotte, NC
Recently we were contacted by an organization, Wish of a Lifetime, about doing a portrait session. After speaking with my contact, and looking at their website about what they do, I loved everything about Wish of a Lifetime! Their mission is to grant wishes and make dreams come true for elderly people. This completely hit home for me as I grew up with a grandfather in a nursing home. I wish we had known about this organization for both my grandparents.
Wish of a Lifetime is located in Colorado, but they grant wishes all over the country. It just so happened that a wonderful woman had a dream of a date night out with her sweet husband. They currently live in an assisted living/nursing home facility and do not share a room because of health issues. So, a night out to dinner, a portrait session with us, and a hotel room at the Renaissance Hotel Charlotte, was exactly what Wish of a Lifetime granted for this beautiful wife and her husband.
It was such an honor to photograph this couple and to capture their enduring love. Every hand hold, sweet kiss, and embrace showed us how much they adored each other. After we said our goodbyes, I couldn’t help but think of my own husband and how I look forward to growing old with him.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the session. I am so grateful that we were able to capture this wonderful evening for the two of them.
Thank you, Wish of a Lifetime, for allowing us to be a part of making their dream come true!
Portraits | A February Snow | Fort Mill, SC
This morning we awoke to see flurries falling from the sky. Last time it snowed, it didn’t begin until late in the afternoon. Though we did take a few portraits, it really wasn’t the best conditions to get great snow shots. So, this time, I was excited to go outside and have a photo shoot with just TJ and myself. It was so much fun and refreshing to photograph in conditions that we typically don’t get the opportunity to shoot in. I hope you enjoy our fun & silly portraits.
Royally Happy
“The world is so full of a number of things, I’m sure we should all be as happy as kings.” -Robert Louis Stevenson
Life is hard. Times can be tough. However, it is in those moments that we need to look around and soak up the things that make us happiest. Our worlds are wonderful and it needs to be captured somehow, whether through song, poetry, photography, etc. For me, it is, and always will be, photography and writing.
Yesterday I babysat the cutest girl ever (yes, I’m extremely biased), my niece. Because of my 365 photo project, I was super excited to do a photo shoot with her. Fortunately yesterday was a beautiful day full of sunshine, which meant we didn’t have to bundle up and we’d be able to stay out longer.
Selah was fresh and lively after an afternoon nap. Her smiles were genuine, and her innocence was pure. Everything lined up perfectly. I was there to document her afternoon and capture her blossoming personality.
Days like this are what bring true happiness. Having images like this are proof of that happiness. When there are days that don’t line up right, we will always have those days to look back on and remind us how truly wonderful our world is.
(These were taken moments after she woke up. She is full of emotion)

Enjoy these images. (They are in no particular order.)
Leah Joy
Leah Joy is one of my dearest friends. She is funny, beautiful, kind, & I love her. Enjoy these gorgeous images!
Big thanks to Aloft Charlotte at the Epicentre in Charlotte, NC, for allowing us to use their lobby for the photo shoot.
1 Year Portraits: Jackson
A few days after Christmas we photographed 1 year portraits (and a few family ones too) of Jackson. What a fun little guy! We were lucky to get some great indoor studio shots in before all of his energy kicked into gear. Once he couldn’t sit still anymore we finished up the shoot outside. It was such a gorgeous Winter Day. There were still many leaves on the ground too, so it felt like Fall also. It’s always fun to get shots of kids playing in the leaves!
Happy Birthday, Jackson!
Engagement Session: Hannah + Benjamin
When Benjamin looks at Hannah, she lights up with such beauty and joy. They are at home in each others arms and cannot wait for the moment that they truly belong to one another.
We cannot wait to continue this wonderful journey with you both and photograph your Wedding Day. Congratulations, Hannah & Benjamin!
Family Session: Yeakley
This past month we have photographed many amazing families against natures gorgeous background of warm, Autumn, colors! One of those families was the Yeakley family. I smile as I review their wonderful portraits because the love this family has for each other shines throughout the images. As you look at these beautiful moments from their session, I hope you feel the same joy and happiness.
